Cricket Hall

The Centre is justifiably proud of the Jack Hobbs Cricket Hall, which has two nets and a specially designed playing surface. Uni-Turf has an anti-reflection embossed surface which ensures a positive true bounce plus the ability to take spin. It has already been installed at most of the major indoor cricket schools, including those at Lords, Headingley, The Oval, and the Rose Bowl (Hampshire), as well as at overseas cricket facilities in South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.

You can also pit your wits against one of our two 'Bola' machines, which are capable of bowling spin and swing, as well as deliveries of up to 90 mph if you want to test your defensive batting techniques against a Dennis Lillee, but can do without the flamboyant 70s 'tache and all-day sledging.

We are also very popular with local cricket clubs, especially after Christmas, so if you belong to a club or organisation and need somewhere to get your team in nick for the outdoor season, ring Dan West at the Centre, or email dwest@hillsroad.ac.uk.

There are a number of coaches that offer individual coaching for those of you wishing to polish up your skills.  Contact the Centre for their details.

One final note - if your requirements stretch beyond what the Cricket Hall can offer, the adjacent sports hall provides plenty of room for coaching larger groups of juniors or for fielding practice.
